Reflecting Inner Presence
Salomi Pantelidou captures the quiet dialogue between light and the female figure, inviting you to explore the silence within each brushstroke.
THE BIOGRAPHY
Salomi Pantelidou is a visual artist based in Cyprus. Her work focuses on the female figure and inner experience, expressed through a contemporary and clean visual language in which light functions as a conscious artistic choice. Her artistic practice includes painting and mixed media, with an emphasis on materiality and the relationship between form and emotion. Each work functions as an autonomous experience rather than a decorative object. Through her practice, she seeks to create images that engage quietly yet meaningfully with the viewer.
My work explores human presence as an inner experience. The female figure functions not as representation, but as a carrier of emotion, memory, and silence. Light is a central element of my visual language. I do not use it as a decorative device, but as a conscious artistic choice that reveals, balances, and creates space for breathing within the work. Color functions in a similar way—not as intensity, but as a bearer of inner energy. I am interested in the relationship between form and emotion, as well as in the materiality of the painted surface. The process is as important as the final outcome; each work develops gradually through layers, pauses, and re-evaluations. My works do not seek to provide answers or guide the viewer. They invite a quiet, personal viewing experience, allowing each individual to pause, feel, and connect with their own inner world.
